You will read my complete experience, sorry for the long text and not 100% correct translation to english (my native language is spanish and i used google translate).[UNBOXING]The box comes with exactly everything expected:1 KVM deck4 HDMI cables (v2.0 teste but… keep reading :/ )4 USB 3.0 cables (Type A male conector for computer, Type B female conector for KVM)1 remote control1 USB cable type Mini-USB to Mini-USB (for remote control)1 power supply (AC (110-220v) Type A connector to USB Type A output (5v - 1a))1 USB type A to DC power connector cable (to supply )My first impression: a good size slim KVM device, comes with all cables, adapter and remote control. Looks good![ABOUT VIDEO]Can’t check/test HDMI port resolution 2k@144hz: My monitor ( Samsung G5 C27G55T) connector OR my graphics card (ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1660 Super A6G) can’t operate these resolution on HDMI ports, only DisplayPort. I think it’s a monitor’s issue because I used a Cable Matters HDMI 2.1 cable and KVM cables to test, but only 60Hz detected in Windows settings and https://www.testufo.com/refreshrate test webpage. Altrought the HDR10 feature works fine with the KVM and monitor. The HDMI cables (my experience) trasmit HDR10 so, the cables are, at least, HDMI 2.0a (sorry about can’t test HDMI 2.1b or 2k@144hz)[EDID]It works... and it works great, if I switch to an unused port or to a port on a powered off computer, the screen resolution on the powered on computer remains unchanged. That for me was something too very much totally important!Jaja, my exagerated spanish, and google translator making his job from ‘Eso para mi era algo demasiado muy mucho totalmente importante!’ ... LOL!, but, really is very important to me the EDID!.[About keyboards mouse and external storage]- Keboards tested:XPG Infarex K10 (RGB lighting controlled by Keyboard, wired)Corsair 60 (ARGB lighting controlled by iCUE softare, wired)Acer SK-9621 (NO Light, wired)Logitech K270 (NO Light, wireless by unifyng)- Mouses tested:Asus Strix Impact II (ARGB lighting controlled by Armoury Crate, wired)EVGA Torq X5 (RGB lighting controlled by EVGA TORQ Unleash software, wired)Logitech G502 (ARGB lighting, wired)Logitech G100S (No light, wired)Logitech M185 (No Light, wireless by unifyng)- Storage tested:ADATA HD860 USB 3.0Kingston DataTraveler G4 USB 3.0Kingston DT50 USB 2.0[MOUSE AND KEBOARD RESULTS]When any ARGB keyboard or ARGB mouse is connected to the dedicated ports on the KVM and the KVM hotkey button is ON, the KVM connects and disconnects. This means that some software controlled devices (even if the software is not installed) will not work if they are connected to the dedicated ports of the KVM with the hotkey option enabled. Doing some experiments, plugging any keyboard or mouse into their respective dedicated port and turning OFF the hotkey feature, it works! , even ARGB control on devices (K60 and G502 on dedicated ports). When devices are connected to USB 3.0 ports and the KVM hotkey is enabled, there is no intermittent connection. The hotkey function only works when a normal keyboard and/or mouse (not controlled by software or with ARGB) are connected to the dedicated ports of the KVM.My setup has something “special” about the XPG keyboard, since it’s not a software controlled lighting keyboard, I can connect to a dedicated port to enable the hot key feature with no problem.I don’t try, like, want, or intend to use the mouse hotkey in any way (I use yhe double click middle mouse button a lot for some tasks). The other keyboards and mouse work fine and as expected (with and without control software installed) on the USB 3.0 hub. Turning on the second and third computers are not very often or continuous, so I can use the K60 and G502 devices and switch to the XPG keyboard when I need to use the hotkey feature, I can use the remote to switch between computers most of the time, knowing that these controllers break their buttons very quickly.[WIRELESS DEVICES]Unifying receiver is something special, can receive other Unifying device information as keyboard, mouse or game pad. I connect tu dedicated ports in KVM and works with hot key button OFF. Even in mouse or keyboard port both devices works fine. At least I think, the real problem is hot key.Logitech’s Unifying receiver is something special, it can receive information from multiple unifying devices simultaneously like keyboard, mouse or gamepad. Connected to dedicated keyboard or mouse ports on the KVM works with the hotkey button OFF. Even on any dedicated port, both devices work fine. I think the real problem is the hot key (which I will rarely use).[USB FLASH DRIVES AND STORAGE](Spolier: PROBLEMS!!!… neeeh, just an issue)Kingston flash drives work fine, I can read and write files like any regular flash drive, BUT, Adata HD680 external HDD just doesn't work. The hard drive just “clicky” (like trying to star) and is not recognized by Windows (using or not using the KVM power supply). This is a very common problem with external hard drives when plugged into USB ports, even if they are powered ports, so I think it's an issue (things happening), but not "a problem!" (the google translator uses: “it's a problem (things happening), but not "a problem!" XD).[THE USB 3.0 ports]They're USB 3.0 ports, that's all, hmm... it might just be a little thing... When you connect any device to any USB port (dedicated USB 3.0 ports and hubs) a new USB layer is created with the required speed. In the image, the Logitech G502 (USB 2.0) connected to the USB 3.0 HUB creates a new USB layer. This is not a problem, everything works fine for me, but for another user with an Apple computer, his dock was not recognized by the USB layer restriction (or something like that, as I understood).[THE POWER SUPPLY]The power supply powers the KVM when connected to low power computers (battery or adapter power) suke as laptops or AIO. This avoids draining the batteries or intensively using the electrical capacity of motherboard. On desktops, something called ‘ErP’ (has settings i the in Firmware), you can disable it (ErP) to allow power to the motherboard and USB ports after shutting down the computer.Remember:A. Disabled ErP = Power in USB portsB. Enabled ErP = USB ports not working, no power, no happinessC. KVM connected to power source will maintain the configuration in KVM (port used, hot key button status, and HDMI EDID).I tested in three ways: (like 4 possible scenarios) using provided power supply (1), connected to an ‘ErP disabled’ USB port(2) and wtihout(2).1 - Using the supplied (in box) power supply: After shutdown and disconnect computer nothing changes when turned on. All settings were remembered.2.a - KVM Connected to a computer USB port with ErP Disabled: When shudown all computers and turn on, all was ok, BUT, when switch off the computer’s power (in all computers) the KVM did not recieve power. After switching ON, the KVM port and hot key reset to 1 and ON respectively.2.b - KVM Connected to a computer USB port with ErP Enabled: So, ErP prevent power flow, so, KVM settings resets.3. No DC connection: When the computers are turned off and ErP is disabled on at least 1 computer, the KVM is powered, but it works as a KVM connected with power supply.[TAKE CARE OF]A. If the power fails (that happens fairly regularly in the rest of continent south of the US, we call home or Latam, XD), you need to reset the KVM. To do so, simply turn off the KVM power switch, turn on at least one computer*, then turn on KVM power switch and it works!.*Wait some time to computer video to start, some computers need 5 - 10 seconds to finish P.O.S.T. (Power On Self Test) and send video data.B. Your computer’s power supply will draw power to power the KVM in any scenario, this is about 2 watts/hour (max) for the KVM, gaming keyboard and mouse, so be aware of the power supply’s specs and the possibility that your power bill will increase (not much, but it does happens).[ABOUT HOT KEYS]I won’t be using it much, but changed it to the [scroll lock] key. The manual has all details. The only one function I don’t understand or find to work is the “detection function”. I can’t find what it does, or what it’s suppouse to do, but I think, for my work, it’s not necesary/important.[ABOUT THE KVM COMMAND BEEP]It’s very louda nd nosy, but it’s good for me. I need to know if computer was changed or if a command was recieved on the KVM.[THE VEREDICT]It’s a good KVM, at the time of review I rate it 5 stars. It does everything it promises, comes with everything you need. I love the wired remote.May be the gaming keyboard and mouse conflict on the dedicated ports is a bug or glich, but all the documentation and other reviews told me about that. Personally the biggest glitch is HDMI 2k@ 144hz for some games (my monitor is the glitch), even the external HDD storage is a glitch, but all these issues have been resolved and I have the time and devices to solved it (buying another monitor… ok that’s needs some time… but I can solve :D, using a RGB keyboard or remote control and plugin HDD directly to computer’s rear USB port).I can fix these problems, and I can handle them for use case (it is my specific case and my knowledge).Hope this helps in your decision to buy or not this KVM, I want a lot of hz to my monitor, but is not possible right now, I will try an HDMI to DisplayPort adaptor and hope comes with EDID.. I need to search for that and may be I will update the review. Have a good and productive day :)
