I love the Cooking Mama series. I've played all of the other ones and they are a blast. I have been eager to play this version!I've got to say, this is the weakest in the series. First of all, the controls are spotty at times. There are times the prompts appear and others where I just see an item on screen with no clue or cue what to do. If I reload the stage, the lines/guidance appears. Otherwise, mechanically this game is okay. I like the alternative ways to cook things, like blowing or tilting the system. That's quite clever.The part that makes me strongly dislike this game is how unrealistic it is. Bear with me a moment, I swear I'm not being irrational here. The previous entries in this series felt like you were in the kitchen. You were slicing, dicing, setting timers, etc. You might not truly be cooking, but it felt like the true experience and how you'd properly use the tools. Cooking Mama 4 is all across the board. One of the first things you make (corn dogs), you need to skewer hot dogs as they fall. To put them on the deep fryer you need to time it to throw them onto the rack before the rack spins. When you're making cherry pie, the pie is travelling all across the screen and you need to fling things in.There are hundreds of mini games out there I can buy. I really enjoyed this series for being not JUST mini games but feeling like you were doing the actual thing. It might be less interesting to drag cherries into a pie shell or skewer a motionless hot dog, but I'd far prefer that as it feels like I'm actually making the object.My poor husband has had to listen to me muttering at this game more than once, telling Mama to get her act together and practice proper kitchen safety.If the charm of this series was getting to cook, I'd say skip this game. If the fun was just playing lots of minigames, you'll probably still enjoy this.This game is a great edition to the Cooking Mama series. Much better graphics then last three games. Also, it's easier to control. The movements work right when you do them. The new 3D feature gives this cooking mama game a fun twist. You get to tilt the device to chop vegetables. Also, the 3D feature makes it hilarious to mess up! Every time the food goes flying towards mam's face you an see it in 3D which makes it all the more hilarious. I gave this 4 stars because while it is amazing, Cooking Mama 5 is better. It has the cooking dojo which is one of my favorite features. Also, the graphics are better in the 5th one. Playing Cooking Mama is my guilty pleasure. And I'm not alone- some of my friends have admitted to me that they, too, enjoy pretending to cook food in their spare time. Maybe it's the starving college kid syndrome, or maybe this game is just that enjoyable.There are a few problems: sometimes, the game doesn't respond to inputs and I'll do poorly on a recipe through no fault of my own. The foods can get repetitive after a while, but that comes with the territory. Lastly, the content is limited, but for $15 this game is definitely worth it. I got several hours of enjoyment for about the cost of a movie ticket. She was very happy to have received this for her birthday, to play on her Nintendo 3DS. The humor in this game makes it fun to play. Graphics are good and I like the background music! Fun for all ages.Hola acabo de recicbir el juego y mi hija con toda su ilusion lo abre y esta la caja vacia ? imagine la sorpresa de mi hija y la desilusion. En la pagina decia que los juegos estaban bien revisados y si habia problema se devolvia, pero en este caso no tengo nada que devolver ni nada que probar. Quiero que me eniven el juego de nuevo o me hagan la devolucion del dinero.Es la versión americana del juego, de manera que si tienes una consola europea no te servira el juego. Una lastima.Funciona muy bien y llegó muy rápido. Lo compre para mi novia y esta encantada. Es un poco complicado pero así es mejor
